How to Remove Red Wine Stains from Clothes

Red wine is a classic beverage choice during the holiday season, so we'd hate if you felt stress out while you serve up when you're hosting a yacht party or if you avoid a red varietal when you're out because you're scared of spills and stains. To remove a red wine stain from clothes, bedding, or other washable fabric, this article will provide helpful stain removal advice, just follow these easy steps and you will be ready to get red wine stains out of anything now:

  1. Gently dab or blot the excess liquid with a clean cloth (microfiber) or piece of kitchen roll. Do not rub the stain - This will make it worse.
  2. Apply some salt on the stain while it is still damp to soak up excess liquid.
  3. You could also try applying white wine to the stain, which will help neutralise the stain.
  4. Just gently dab the stain to remove the excess liquid.
  5. If it's a larger stain, then you can try soaking the garment in white wine or in soda water.
  6. After this treatment is complete, wash the garment as normal on a cool wash with a good detergent. Washing at 30°C to minimize electricity consumption, that is good for the planet. Avoid a hot wash or tumble drying on high heat, as heat may set the stain.

Bonus Tip: Don’t put the cloth in the dryer until the red wine stain is completely removed. Otherwise, the dryer’s heat will cause the remaining stain to set.
